French Toast
Ingredients
- 1 cup half-and-half (or whole milk)
- 3 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup (1.5 ounces)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 8 (1/2-inch) slices dry bread (brioche or challah are great)
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
- In medium size mixing bowl, whisk together the half-and-half, eggs, syrup, and salt. You may do this the night before.
- Place slices of bread onto a sheet pan. Pour mixture over all the slices evenly. Flip the slices and let the mixture soak in all the slices.
- Fry in pan with butter or on griddle on medium heat until done. Remove from pan and place on rack in oven for 5 minutes.
